Elonera Montessori's FIRST® LEGO® League teams are feverishly working away at their robots and projects as they prepare for the regional competition at TIGS on 26 November. FIRST® LEGO® League is a competition where students build, program and compete with a robot, while also learning about a modern problem in science and engineering and developing solutions for it.
The teams must complete challenges across this year's "Animal Allies" themed playing surface, as well as a research project on a topic involving interactions between humans and animals. The primary team (Team Instinct) is looking at the Australian Frilled Lizard and the high school team (The Not Reformed) is looking at pet safety in cars.
Our FLL teams have demonstrated their teamwork ethic already with a bake sale fundraiser at Bunnings and a workshop to construct the practice table they're using in the stage 3 classroom. Team members are currently meeting on Tuesdays at Robo Club and Wednesdays after school.
